Kirtan is a form of group singing where we create a unique experience together. A Kirtan is sung part by part from the front and repeated back by the whole group. Traditionally, Kirtan are Sanskrit Mantra, accompanied by different instruments and percussion. It is not so much a performance but a co-creation with the group. I play the harmonium – this special instrument coming from my home country Switzerland.
Ultimately, you have to experience Kirtan – it can not be described! Kirtan is a potent yoga practice, opening our hearts and helping us to express emotions. Kirtan belongs to the traditional branch of Bhakti Yoga.

I designed an 8 weeks course that cover the basics of Mantra & Kirtan. The course can be completed with focus on the voice, or you can incorporate the harmonium or guitar. I will adapt the course content to your needs as we go.
You will leave equipped with at least two Kirtan that you are confident to lead. All learning is practical and experiential. 10 minutes homework per day are recommended to make the most out of the course. I will share online resources with you for that purpose.
This course is taught online or in person.
